Featured Article: Everyday challenges and solutions for individuals aging with Deafness
A TechSAge article in Innovation in Aging explores the everyday challenges & adaptive solutions among older adults aging with long-term deafness. Utilizing a community-engaged research approach, in-depth interviews were conducted in American Sign Language (ASL). We identified key challenges with technology and communication accessibility along with the creative strategies participants employ to manage these challenges. Staff Spotlight: Sarah Jajeh
Sarah Jajeh is a pre-med student at Illinois majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is a research assistant in the Disability Participation and Quality of Life (DPQOL) Research Laboratory and is our new TechSAge Communications Intern. Sarah is working to disseminate TechSAge research and happenings through engaging, accessible content. Shis passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities and is deeply interested in making scientific research accessible and meaningful to broader audiences. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading books and spending time in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes.

We maintain a registry of names of people who are interested in being contacted about research studies. Opportunities include: surveys, focus groups, interviews, and technology evaluations. Depending on the study, you may be able to participate on the phone, online, on campus, at your home, or in other locations.
