TechSAge design competitions inspire students to propose innovative technology solutions to support real-world challenges of people aging with disabilities. Since 2016, the competition has evolved, with recent iterations focusing on robotics. Competitions provide training in inclusive and universal design and increase awareness about the user needs of this population. Students gain feedback on their concepts from a panel of interdisciplinary experts. Winning teams are offered additional resources to further develop and evaluate their prototypes and pursue commercialization opportunities.
